Lesson 5: Subject Pronouns
Welcome to Lesson 5 for learning Unilange. There will be no vocabulary in lesson. That is because we are teaching you something very important: pronouns. This will require a lot of explaining and examples, so this will be a lesson without vocabulary words to learn. Instead of focusing on learning the new vocabulary, you should make sure you really understand the concept we are teaching.
Pronouns in English | Pronænaé èn angla
Before you learn about pronouns in Unilange, you must learn about the pronouns in English. The pronouns in English are as follows:

Plural:

Notice that that "you" is in the single and plural column. That is because it can mean one single person but also two or more.

Examples | Éamplaé
For our examples, we are going to use the verb "mangèr", which means "to eat". Recall that you do not have to conjugate verbs in Unilange. You only have to place in the infinitive (the form of the verb we give you) where you want it in the sentence:
Io mangèr fèrma. | I eat cheese.
(EE-oh mang-air fair-ma)
Tü mangèr paninaé. | You eat sandwiches.
(too mang-air pa-NEEN-a-ay)
Il/El/Es/Man mangèr дé épva. | He/She/It/One eats the apple.
(eel/ell/ehz/mahn mang-air day APE-fa)
Nü mangèr дé hüew. | We eat the egg.

Aren't there more?
If you speak any foreign languages (or know English Grammar well), you may be thinking "aren't there more pronouns?" Well, in most languages there are. In Unilange, however, there is only one set of pronouns. As you can see in the chart above, each pronoun means both the subject and the object in English. For example, "Io" in Unilange means "I", "Me", and "Myself". The same is true for all the other pronouns. The possessive pronouns (my, your, his, etc.) are the only pronouns which are different.
Are you ready for Lesson 6?
To move on to Lesson 6, you should know how to pronounce and spell all of the pronouns. It would also be good if you knew how to spell them. Remember the accents on the words. They are very important!
Also, download the test below and take it. It's a review of the first five lessons. If you get more than 8 questions wrong on it, it is recommended that you go through these first five lessons again and study more. If you get 8 or less questions wrong, you are probably ready to move on to Lesson 6.
